Mastering Spelling

Six levels for skill-based spelling instruction for your older students.

Mastering Spelling is a series of six work texts. The series spans reading levels from grades 6-11 and teaches spelling through three proven pedagogical approaches: phonics, structural analysis, and word studies. Individual work texts consist of 26 4-page lessons focusing on individual spelling concepts, and provides plenty of review, reinforcement, and real-life applications along the way. An abundance of exercises reinforce key spelling concepts.

A diagnostic and placement test makes it possible to provide our students in the higher grades with a spelling program at their instructional level

World of Vocabulary

A vocabulary program for students with varying abilities.

Here's a program that makes learning vocabulary more fun for students reading at or below level. These eight work texts will help students develop a stronger vocabulary and better reading comprehension skills. The use of short, high-interest nonfiction reading selections, such as Habitat for Humanity, and Virtual Reality, provide a meaningful context for learning and will promote cultural understanding, encourage further reading, and foster cooperative learning.

A diagnostic and placement test is used to determine your students’ strengths and weaknesses, and place them in their appropriate level.  It’s an ideal tool for pinpointing the skills your student needs most.
